M&I Bakery Refund and Cancellation Policy Overview
Welcome to the Refund and Cancellation Policy for M&I Bakery. This document outlines your rights when canceling your purchase of our Cakes and Baked Goods, including when you are eligible for a refund.
Given the perishable nature and custom-made aspect of our products, cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 typically do not apply. Nonetheless, we prioritise customer satisfaction and have established our own cancellation and refund procedures to accommodate your needs more flexibly.
Cancellation Before Delivery
We understand that plans can change, possibly leading you to cancel your order. Our policy in such cases is as follows:
- Early Cancellation (5 days prior): Cancel up to five days before your scheduled delivery to receive a full refund, minus a £10 administrative fee and any pre-cancellation costs incurred on our end.
- Late Cancellation (Less than 5 days): Cancellations made with less than five days until delivery generally do not qualify for a refund. If we make an exception due to extraordinary circumstances, we may offer store credit for M&I Bakery, deducting a £10 administrative fee and any costs we’ve incurred, including lost opportunity costs from declining other orders.
Our costs begin once we start preparing your order, as each item is freshly made by independent bakers. This may include purchasing specific ingredients and decorations.
M&I Bakery Cancelling Your Order
If we must cancel your order for any reason, we will inform you as soon as possible and issue a full refund. We are not responsible for any additional costs or damages beyond the amount paid for your order. Partial payments will receive proportional refunds.
Post-Delivery Returns and Refunds
Once delivered, the contract is considered complete. Due to the perishable nature of our products, returns and refunds are generally not possible.
Should there be an issue with your order, we encourage you to contact us at info@mibakery.co.uk promptly, ideally within 24 hours of delivery. Complaints received after 48 hours may not be entertained. While not obligated, we may offer a partial refund, a full refund, or a discount on future purchases at our discretion.
For complaints regarding taste, texture, or hygiene, please report them immediately, preserve the product, and allow us to collect it for inspection. Without the opportunity to examine the product, refunds or compensation for these issues cannot be provided.

Refund Policy
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to any loss of business arising from turning away other bookings on that date. Full payments made less than 4 weeks in advance of the delivery date are non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation by the purchaser and there is more than 4 weeks notice, then we will refund the total amount paid. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for any reason, we will give you as much notice as possible and find a suitable baker to make your cake. If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the full price to you.
